As an important part of quality education in the process of new curriculum reform,music teaching is becoming more and more important.Music appreciation course in high school is an important content to improve students' basic music cultural quality,aesthetic ability and whole development.However,because of the problems of geographical environment,teaching equipments,schools,teachers and students' values to music,curriculum,teaching materials and methods,especially under the strong pressure of college entrance examination,music appreciation teaching is not gained enough attention in most high school in Jiexiu City,Shanxi province.Therefore,based on the investigation of the present situation of the music appreciation teachers and students in Jiexiu city of Shanxi province,this thesis analyzes the problems and shortcomings in the music appreciation teaching of high school in Jiexiu.The writer use the theory and practical experience of in high school to explore the reform and development direction of music appreciation teaching and provide inspiration.This paper mainly includes the following four parts:The first part emphasizes the importance and necessity of this research topic by describing its background,the meaning and purpose of the research,the literature review,the main contents and the research methods of this thesis.The second part discribed the significance of music appreciation in high school and the present situation of music appreciation teaching in Shanxi and analyzed the current situation of music appreciation teaching in Jiexiu Senior High School according to the questionnaire survey.It mainly investigates the students' learning environment,the teaching facilities,the allocation of teachers and the learning motivation of students,the curriculum and the use of the teaching materials,the teaching methods and the interaction between teachers and students,the situation of teaching effect and evaluation,teachers' basic knowledge and ability of scientific research.Based on the research this thesis explored some problems of music appreciation course in high School of Jiexiu.In this study,we found that: the whole awareness of music appreciation is weak,the teaching facilities of schools need to be improved;the teacher's music teaching method is single,the teaching materials need to be sublimated;the interaction between teachers and students is not enough,and the ability of teacher's scientific research needs to be strengthened urgently.The third part put forward the reform and development of music appreciation teaching of high school in Jiexiu.It is suggested that high school music appreciation teaching should take actions in the following aspects: taking the all-round development of students as the core,strengthening the music teaching idea;improving the music appreciation equipment to enhancing the aesthetic ability;using various teaching methods to expend students' classroom experience;full pre-class preparation to strengthen the interaction between teachers and students;enriching the content of the teaching material,establishing the students' musical accomplishment;overalling the basic knowledge structure,strengthening teachers' ability of scientific research.
