Secondary vocational education is both an important component in the second education and the basic level of the vocational education in China.Furthermore,with the rapid development of Vocational Education in our country,the team quality construction of vocational education teachers is highly valued as well.In order to achieve the sustainable development of secondary vocational education,the quality construction of teaching staff has been the core issue of reform and development.Teachers' professional development is the inevitable requirement and effective way of the reform and development of vocational education.Today,China's foreign trade has ushered in an unprecedented development opportunities and challenges.The professional development of English teachers is very important in the secondary vocational schools setting up the foreign related major.Due to the weak English foundation of secondary vocational school students,and the ignoring the teaching of English in some secondary vocational school,the current English language skills of secondary vocational school students can not meet the needs of the workplace and the market.As the result,The improvement of teaching and teachers' professional ability are more and more urgent and important.In form of the “Secondary vocational school teachers professional development standards ”,this study selected a secondary vocational school with foreign nursing English teachers as the research object to explores the professional development and existing problems of English teachers in vocational schools,and puts forward the corresponding countermeasures to promote the professional development of English teachers in Secondary Vocational Schools.First of all,professional development of teacher and secondary vocational school are defined as the two core concepts.Then the background knowledge of professional development,which is the theoretical support are introduced.On this basis,this study uses the questionnaire survey method and observation method to collect data,and analyzes the current situation of the professional development of English teachers in secondary vocational schools.Through the questionnaire survey,it is found that there are the high degree of recognition of the standards among the English teachers in secondary vocational schools and they also have good cognitive status to the fulfilling of the standard?Through the course observation of 20 English teachers in secondary vocational school.The behavior identified as professional competence of the testee was the most.The behavior identified as professional ideas and teachers' professional ethics of the testee was the lest.The overall situation of the professional development of English teachers is not optimistic and the indicators are lower than the expected average?Based on this,this research put forward the corresponding improvement strategies to strengthen the professional philosophy,ethics of secondary vocational school English teachers,promote their professional development and help secondary vocational school English teachers to make correct self-understanding and appeal to the relevant departments to focus on the academic margin situation of the secondary school English teachers...
