Assigning mathematics homework to students is an important part of mathematics teaching.It is a necessary link of classroom teaching,which aims at consolidating the knowledge students having learned in the classroom,cultivating the mathematical skills required and developing students' mathematical literacy,innovation ability and practice ability.Senior grade one is the first year of senior high school.It is an important period for students to adapt new learning methods and form learning methods.Besides,it plays an important role in combining compulsory education with senior high school education.So,status of students' mathematics homework should be paid attention to and studied.We can adopt literature research method,questionnaire method and interview method to investigate the status of senior grade one students' mathematics homework.The investigating process is as follows:first,I designed a investigation scheme based on the new high school mathematics curriculum standards and related learning theory.Secondly,I conducted a questionnaire survey on 423 high school students and 18 teachers from three key senior high schools in Nanchang City.Besides,I also interviewed these teachers.During this period,I collected some materials and information about the status of mathematics homework.In the investigating process,we can also carry out comparative study on several teachers' homework design of a certain class to find out the similarities and differences on the objectives and content of homework.For example,from the analysis of the results of the survey we can find that: the method how schools manage homework will affect the overall development of students.Besides,high school teachers haven't well recognized the results of the convergence study on mathematics homework assignment,physical and mental development characteristics of junior and senior schools' students as well as the function and value of homework.Thus,the homework assigned by teachers may not adapt to students' cognitive structure level and can't promote the development of students' personality,innovation consciousness and practical ability.The study found that these students have keen interest in learning mathematics,but they are lack of awareness of their own development.Besides,these students have strong autonomous learning consciousness and willingness to communicate with their math teacher.In this aspect,there is a significant difference among students of different levels.The study alsofound some unreasonable phenomena in the assignment of senior grade one's mathematics homework.For example,goals of homework deviate from the mathematics curriculum standards;The form of homework is single;Teachers do not pay enough attention to homework design;The homework assigned by teachers may not be suitable for all students;The subjectivity of these students in homework election is not obvious,etc.We can take the following measures to solve the above problems: Teachers should further their design and research on homework;Diversify the types of homework,for example,appropriate assignment of reading,mathematical modeling,writing,mathematics and information technology,oral and practical type of homework;Diversify the methods of homework assignment,for example,the homework can be assigned by group leaders or students themselves;Guide students to practice;Teachers should change their methods of correcting students' homework.And they should correct students' homework in time and give out some feedback.
