A Study Of The "Taking-revenge-on-society Events"——on The Origin Of Resentment

Since the beginning of the new century,the "taking-revenge-on-society events"(TROSE for short)occur frequently,which means that some individuals.acting alone,being not insane,nor aroused by religious extremism factors,and without any direct contradictions or animosities with the public,attack innocent people brutally.the TROSE is a kind of extremely cold-blooded vicious antirational killing,breaking a traditional rule,namely "every debt has its debtor" in Chinese people's minds.as the number of the TROSE increases,unusual copycat crimes follow,and after being shocked,enraged and bewildered for many times,people become quite used to those phenomena,and even make fun of it.evidently it reveals that there is an imbalance in the current social ecology of China,which makes people helpless and feel its oppression incontrovertibly.By empirically analysizing 113 cases since the beginning of the new century and summarizing them theoretically and making further theoretical derivation,the author tries to expound the origin of TROSE.the trosers(referring to those who do TROSE)have the following sociological features:being an economic vulnerable group,male young adults,ill-educated and frustrated by the failure of marriage or love.the changing of economic system has caused fearful unfair distribution of income and bred structural resentment,the peasants and peasant workers struggling under the economic policy and the dual structure of urban and rural areas after the failing of agricultural modernization,and the social burden brought about by the breaking up of state-owned enterprise system and the marketization of education and health services being examples.the fading of traditional community such as country and the Unit(??)makes people lead a mentally and bodily vagrant life,destroying the emotional connection and trust between people.Shifting swiftly from the ardour of idealism to the passion of materialism,the social mentality is full of anxieties.Based on the above-mentioned factors,and fostered by mammonism,individualism,sexual permissiveness and the loss of traditional culture,the utilitarian public morals result in moral degeneration.Love and marriage is put on a price tag and so marketized,which is brought about by injustice and makes love and marriage found on quicksand.Moreover,the influence of media on society and its effects of sensationalizing and broadcasting violence cannot be ignored.The patriarchal system has to do with the relational mindset of Chinese,which encourages them to regard the society as accountable for their misfortunes.And the culture of "straightness"(?),namely Chinese people's pursuit of inner integrity and outer justice,because of its rejecting the influence of religious factors,makes unjust treatments unbearable to Chinese.The author finds that logically the TROSE are "the Fames of venom".The author holds that everybody in the social world pursues three goals:Goods,Eros and Fames.the pursuit of Goods is to build the relationships between subject and object;Eros to build the mutual relationships between subject and object;and Fames to build the relationships of inter-subjectivity.the Fames are achieved by the manipulation towards Goods and Eros,and so turn out to be four types:the Fames of egoism,the Fames of altruism,the Fames of venom,and the Fames of autosadism,the TROSE are "the Fames of venom".by surveying and analyzing the empirical materials,the author finds that the trosers thirst for the Fames.those who seek the Fames of venom follow the same guideline(that is,the self-interest logic)as those who seek the Fames of egoism,so to both of them there is a positive correlation between the quantity and quality of Fames and the quantity and quality of Goods and Eros.so when the trosers are denied Goods and Eros by the unjust social system,they are denied the Fames too.the author holds that the reason why the trosers choose this despairing venomous way to achieve the Fames rather than the very way of benefiting themselves at other people's cost is that the Fames are more important for them.although the modern economic system guarantees people's subsistence,it fails to provide justice and equality,and the dimension of military system in modernity has a strengthening effect on the imbalanced social ecology,as a result,even if the trosers adopt the strategy of benefiting themselves at other people's cost to compensate their Fames shortages,it is almost impossible.if the awful social ecology by which the TROSE is created failed to be improved,the number of TROSE might increase,and even the Fames of autosadism,namely the religious asceticism might follow.by studying the TROSE,the author produced a new theory of Goods-Eros-Fames(or the theory of four Fames)that is useful and sensible for explaining the social world,which is a concrete result of this research.The personality problems of the trosers cannot be ignored,the trosers,with the criminal personalities or the antisocial personalities,of which the criminal personalities may be more than the others,that is to say,more of them are "middle level men",might have avoided from carrying out those felonious acts,if they were living in better conditions.
