English reading is an important way for English learners to acquire and process information as well as the important reflection of their comprehensive ability.The main purpose of reading class is to stimulate students' interests in English reading learning,to cultivate students' self-reading ability,and to improve students' reading level.As for the status quo of English reading teaching,the teachers use traditional translation method in English reading class.It takes teaching language points as the main part,and insists on excessive assignments.Some students accept the knowledge passively,they are not interested in English reading even reject it."The National English Curriculum Standard of Senior High School"(2013)puts forward new requirements for senior high school English reading teaching,and focuses on cultivating learners' ability to analyze and solve problems in English,as well as critical thinking ability.Therefore,how to make students learn English reading independently is a question need to be solved.This research applies interactive teaching method to senior high school English reading teaching,which aims at studying the role of interactive teaching method in stimulating senior high school students' reading learning interests and improving students' English reading ability.English reading class based on the interactive teaching method treats students as the subjects,and teachers play the role of leading.With the help and guidance of teachers,students participate in all aspects of reading teaching process actively and become the host of learning and classroom activities.Through the interaction between teachers-students and the interaction between students-students,all of these aim at stimulating students' prior knowledge and experience in their mind.The researcher puts forward the following questions:1)What changes have taken place in senior high school students' attitudes toward English reading by using interactive teaching method?2)What changes have taken place in senior high school students' reading ability by using interactive teaching method?This research takes reciprocal determinism,social constructivism theory,and process reengineering theory as the theoretical foundation,selects 88 students of Grade Two from a senior high school in Dalian as the experimental subjects.This research lasts a semester,the control class adopts the traditional translation method,the experimental class adopts interactive teaching method.In the research process,following research methods are adopted:teaching experiment,questionnaire and interview.The collected data are analyzed by SPSS 21.0.Through the data analysis,it is concluded that English reading teaching based on the interactive teaching method changes the students' attitudes toward English reading and improves their English reading ability.This research confirms that English reading teaching based on interactive teaching method is feasible.The significance of this research for senior high school English reading teaching is that linking teachers,students,teaching environment,teaching process and teaching result closely through multilateral interaction,the learning level may be improved.However due to the limited research time and few experimental subjects,this research remains to be improved.
