The sleep time of people accounts for one-third of people's life.And sleep is a necessary physical and psychological process for people.So sleep disorders can lead to various diseases such as obesity,high blood pressure,heart disease.It harms not only oneself,but life safety of others who work on special job and even caused economic losses for society.Qigong is a kind of traditional ethnic sports which combines the body activity,deep breathing,with psychological adjustment to improve the quality of sleep.According to “a global survey of sleep: regional survey of China”,45.4% of people have the problem of sleep disorders.However,youth is the backbone of social development,so their health concerns the current situation and future development of the nation,and impacts on the renewal of the Chinese nation directly.Thus it is necessary and significant for us to talk about the sleep quality and mechanism of young and middle-aged people having sleep disorder and to take effective measures and means which is helpful to avoid the occurrence of sleep disorders,and improve the level of their psychological health.This thesis makes a brief introduction about Health Qigong as well as reviews the research status home and abroad and the research progress of sleep quality.And the author analyzes the various factors of the sleep quality of people who took Health Qigong·Yijinjing exercise by PSQI.So the author tries to discuss the effects which Yijinjing improves the sleep quality of young and middle-aged crowd and to provide some theoretical foundations for Health Qigong.This thesis adopts experimental method and works with 42 people of different ages from SOHO building in Chaoyang district of Beijing.And those people who have sleep disorders have been divided into experimental group and controlled group.The subjects directed by teachers take Yijinjing exercise for 12 weeks.Through PSQI,the author collects and analyzes the data of subjects' sleep quality before the experiment and after it separately.After 3 months,the post-experimental result of sleep quality of experimental group is obvious higher than that of the pre-experiment.(P<0.01)However,the result of sleep quality of controlled group has no significant change between the pre-experiment and the post-experiment.(P>0.05)From the data,it is obvious that taking Yijinjing for 3 months could improve the sleep quality of young and middle-aged crowd who has sleep disorder.Yijinjing is a kind of exercises which combines three characters into one.So it's helpful for physiological status and psychological status of exercisers and improves their sleep quality.In a conclusion,the author advises that Yijinjing should be popularized among young people.
