Research On Children Education Under Social Workers' Intervening In Established Community

Since the founding of the People's Republic of China,especially after the reform and opening in 1978,with the rapid development of economy and society,children education has become the top concern among the community party,the country and Chinese people.At present,the words "strengthened youngers lead to a strong nation","strong juvenile,strong nation" and the like do not not only stay in the propaganda,or textual slogan,but also be awared in minds of people.This paper focuses on the "non-formal education" research in Heyuan Community in Hefei as the research field.The author has such a research orientation out of three reasons:the first reason is the author's interest in children education,the second is the autfor's professional direction during the study-Social Work of Education,the third is the author was supported of mentor's research projects in terms of time and funds.Through the study,the author found that in the non-formal education environment,some issues have happened to children in Heyuan Community,and causes of issues are multifaceted.In the macro level,our society transformed rapidly,civilization enhanced.However,Heyuan Community residents with the quality of the new civilization requirements lag.Most of the residents,especially those who are guardians of children,were grown up in the rural culture that have shaping their personal lifestyles,habits,language,etc.Therefore,it is difficult to make them to obtain qualities of modern citizen in short time.This macroscopic factor directly affects the children education in microcosmic dimension,and thus inevitably leads to many problems in non-formal education.Issues of "non-formal education" of Heyuan Community manifested in three major aspects.First,adults choose different education content and shape children differently.Second,guardians apply education methods based on just their own awareness and experiences.Third,a good social environment of Heyuan Community is under construction,some bad or harmful social factors will inevitably work in growths of children.The author's suggestions and countermeasures are supported by three theories:the first is Bandura's Social Learning Theory;the second is Humanistic Psychology Theory by Maslow;the third is Symbolic Interaction Theory created by G.Meide.According to selected problems,the author tries to present countermeasures and suggestions for problems solutions with inspirations of those three theories.Recommendation 1:Building kindergartens and adding qualified teachers.In Heyuan Community,there is only one kindergarten named as "Binhu Little Forest Kindergarten",which is unable to meet the need of children with formal education.Therefore,in addition to adding schools and their facilities,the amount of teachers should be to increased also.Various approaches can be taken to solve amount issue of teachers.For example,reporting the need for more teachers to government,working with normal collages in teachers cultivation,communicating and discussing with volunteers who have worked in Heyuan Community for long time to seek teachers among them.Recommendation 2:Education social workers intervening in family education.The problems of children education have different kinds,which requires the solution to the problem should be various and specific.To common problems,education social workers can take application of Group Method to solve;for individual problems,education social workers can choose Case Method as solution approach.In addition,for those special problems,which education social workers recognize as unlikely to solve inside Heyuan Community,social workers can seek help outside.Recommendation 3:Primary school education and family education should be coordinated with each other.For divergent and different education requirements,school and family need to exchange and communicate about children conditions both in school and family.Recommendation 4:Heyuan Community should construct a good social education environment.In order to make the Heyuan Community to obtain a good social education space,Heyuan Community Committee can develop regulations which aim to require adult residents' behaviors in the public.This paper is composed of four parts.In the first part,the author states the significance of topic.After combing and analyzing the relevant literature,the author thinks that the study of children education in the established community is very rare.Although there are some researches indicate certain conditions of children education in established community,there is no precedence take empirical method to treat the children education in established community as a particular study object.The second and third part of this paper mainly focuses on the research field--the introduction of Heyuan Community and the current situation of children education.This is the essential requirements of empirical research methods applied in social issue study.The fourth part of this paper is the analysis of selected research questions and causes behind that.The fifth part of this paper is also the last part of the whole paper.The author puts forward the countermeasures and suggestions for the problems in the non-formal education of children in Heyuan Community.
