With the cooperations and exchanges getting closer between China and South Korea,it is inevitable that "Mandarin fever" in South Korea has heated up recently.South Korea's demand for Chinese education has been extended from college students and social employed workers to secondary schools,elementary schools and even a few kindergartens.In order to improve students' interest in learning and studying achievement,the South Korean Education Department decided to introduce Chinese teachers to be "native-assisted teachers" and to instruct students'Mandarin conversations as their "foreign teachers".Chinese Program in Korea Project(hereinafter referred to as the CPIK project),then came into being under such background.From the 200 volunteers in 2012 to 326 volunteers at the beginning of 2017,the Office of Chinese Language Council International has sent 1600 million people accumulated to carry out the work of Chinese teaching and the dissemination of Chinese culture in more than 500 primary and secondary schools in Korea.CPIK project in South Korea develops rapidly during the five years of the implementation.It has promoted the exchange of Chinese and Korean teaching ideas,enriching the Korean language teaching methods and has helped the Korean teachers and students learn the most standard Mandarin pronunciation,the most practical teaching contents,experiencing the real natural language environment.As a messenger of Chinese culture dissemination,volunteers become a bridge between the people of China and Korea.As a Chinese volunteer sent by the CPIK project in the year of 2016,the author discovers some problems worthy of consideration in the implementation of the through personal experience and interviews with relevant personnel.This paper uses the method of literature research,observation,interviews and cases analysis,exploring the selection methods,training modes and related problems of volunteers after their arrival in Korea.By combining the author's experience and former volunteers' experience,this paper finds out the shortcomings of the project in the process of implementation in recent years.Moreover,considering the actual teaching situation and life situation of the volunteers in Korea,this paper proposes a few solutions to the related problems.I hope the inquiry into the related problems can provide beneficial reference for both China and Korea to perfect CPIK project.I also hope that these suggestions will help the successors to improve their own skills in more specifical ways before they leave for their assignments,and make it easier to solve their problems in work and life in Korea.
