Mind map is an effective tool of creative thinking.It is based on the brain science research,constructive and information processing theory.It pays attention to the connections between the various things and makes the thinking expressive and visualized.So it is a very efficient information processing system.With the advancement of new curriculum reform,the thought political lesson teaching puts forward to higher requirements.But under the influence of traditional education concept and exam-oriented education,there still exists many problems,such as improper teaching method,putting particular stress on knowledge,students' passive learning,the lack of scientific learning method,the dull classroom atmosphere,etc.So,the optimization of high school thought political lesson teaching is the starting point of this thesis.This thesis mainly focuses on the application of the mind map in the ideological and political class of high schools.First,the author introduces the mind map from the concept,features,theory base and design ways of it by reading relative books.Second,the author analyzes the mind map from its application ways and value;among these,the application ways include lead-in,summary,reflection in teaching and designing class notes.The application value is introduced from points of teachers and students.For example,the mind map can do good to the professional development of teachers and optimize teaching design;the mind map can also be go for the construction of systematical knowledge system,improving thinking ability and optimizing learning ways.Third,the author makes interview with some teachers and students of six high schools in Shanxi province.By this way,can the author conclude that it's necessary and practical to use the mind map in the ideological and political class of high schools.Besides,it can be found that there exist some problems during the process of using the mind map.Finally,the author puts forward three corresponding strategies from the level of the attitude,understanding and application according to those problems.
