Vocabulary is the foundation of foreign language learning and a prerequisite for improving learners? listening,speaking,reading and writing capabilities.Traditional vocabulary teaching focuses too much on explaining and teaching grammatical knowledge while students often have difficulty in remembering words.With the development of information technology and the popularization of the Internet,the flipped classroom,a new model of teaching,boosts learners? initiative and pays more attention to student's knowledge internalization.To a certain extent,it has changed the irreversible one-way communication model of traditional classroom and provides opportunities for vocabulary researches in different models in the future.Primary school vocabulary learning is very important to individual English learning,so vocabulary teaching based on flipped classroom can meet learning needs better and lay a solid foundation for students? future learning.Based on case studies of successful flipped classroom models both at home and abroad,this research makes instructional design based on the flipped classroom model.The researcher has conducted a 14-weeks-long teaching experiment in a class of forty grade-3 students in J experimental school.At the end of this experiment,the teacher and students filled in questionnaires and were interviewed.The effects of instruction design were evaluated by four test scores.The study finds that: primary school vocabulary teaching based on flipped classroom is feasible in education.It can help improve students' grades in lexical tests;help students grasp suitable lexical learning methods;promote interchanges and interactions between teachers and students.However,there still exist some flaws in this model.For example,the use of micro-video has not achieved the desired effect,arrangements of class activities were not ideal,after-school study lacks attention and so on.All these problems need to be improved and being perfected in the practice in the future.
