Chinese curriculum requirements for modern article reading teaching in middle school to cultivate students' autonomous learning ability, independent reading ability and inquiry ability. Development of thematic teaching because of its superiority of personality, self advantages, integration advantages, production advantages, is conducive to the development of students' inquiry ability and self-learning ability.According to the theme of the Chinese teaching material of middle school is a unit arrangement. Forms are special teaching, but in the process of teaching, teachers still used the single teaching, students' autonomous learning opportunities, theme unit teaching advantage did not play out. The purpose of this research topic is through the study of Wu Hong thematic teaching, teachers can have a view of the integration of teaching materials, Based on the whole, planning the teaching content, teachers should have the purpose of cultivating students' autonomous learning ability and inquiry ability, improve students' Chinese accomplishment.This paper uses the literature research method, case analysis method,through the practice of related literatures and their in-depth classroom, have a deep feeling of Wu Hong thematic teaching. Found in the literature, the researchers of Wu Hong thematic teaching to introduction, and its application and this value is not much, so this paper mainly from the Wu Hong thematic teaching in modern reading teaching application,discussed from four aspects: the present situation of reading teaching in Middle School under the background of modern literature, to Wu Hong thematic teaching as the breakthrough point, to explore the characteristics and advantages of Wu Hong thematic teaching in the teaching of Wu Hong thematic. The teaching of modern Chinese reading, the role of teachers and students from the teaching objectives,learning methods, learning and teaching evaluation, strengthen the six aspects of modern reading teaching, discusses the application in the teaching of Wu Hong thematic teaching in modern literary reading.
