Since the 1980 s,the dominant position of students has been paid more and more attention gradually become the core of the teaching,participatory teaching arises at this historic moment.Participatory teaching is a learning method which according to the actual needs of students,through the cooperation between teachers and students and feedback,using varieties of teaching methods to create a relaxing and harmonious teaching atmosphere,encourage students to actively participate in the teaching process.In participatory teaching teachers are assistants,guides and other roles,students are the main body of the classroom,in the interactive construction of knowledge,improve ability,experience emotion,stimulate potential.The traditional teaching mode because of its disadvantages cannot adapt to the development of the teaching of social work major today,participatory teaching and social work are highly compatible with the characteristics of subject participation,they made such great effect together in teaching.This research adopts literature research,questionnaire,interview method,observation method,comparative method,put social work major teachers and students of the Xinjiang university as the object,according to the Constructivism theory and Experiential Learning theory as the instruction,to do the theory and reality research,included the connotation of the participatory teaching,Xinjiang university social work major survey and participatory teaching present situation analysis,the question and the reason analysis,model selection and countermeasures and suggestions.At present,there are few researches on the student's perspective and the combination of national characteristics.The innovation of this research is to study the differences between the national characteristics and the actual comparison of Xinjiang university from the student's perspective.Through the investigation we got the following conclusions: Teachers and students of social work major in Xinjiang University think that participatory teaching is necessary and feasible,agree its concepts and willing to participate.Teachers and students have different views on the same issue,both Han students and minoritystudents have their own views in the treatment of teaching methods.Xinjiang University social work major teaching has now adopted participatory teaching,due to the impact of consciousness concept,participation ability,objective factors,the effect of participatory teaching is not ideal.The survey found that Students are lack of the participation concept,motivation,ability and knowledge.Teacher's ideas and methods need to be changed,lack of experience and ability;School facilities,professional design,management model and assessment system need to be improved,lack of the opportunities for communication and platform for participation.To this regard,combined with national characteristics and the actual situation of Xinjiang University proposed model selection and countermeasures.Mode selection is divided into requirements analysis,teaching design,teaching implementation,summarizes the evaluation of four stages.Countermeasures and Suggestions are as follows: Students should establish a sense of participation,cultivate active learning habits,lay the knowledge base,enhance the ability to participate in learning;Teachers should change the concept and role,improve literacy and ability,pay attention to teaching design and reflection,attention to student differences and life;Schools should improve teaching facilities and teaching content,reform management system and assessment system,widely adopted advice from teachers and students,create participant platform and atmosphere.
