Since the beginning of the 21 st century,the rapid development of China's politics,economy,culture and science and technology has brought unprecedented development opportunities to the higher vocational education.Under the background of popularization of higher education,the higher vocational colleges greatly expand,which promotes the popularization of higher education,on the other hand brings the homogenization of higher vocational colleges because of the poor experience in running schools,and thus affects the curriculum setting of vocational colleges.Curriculum is the key factor to improve the quality the main ways to realize the goal of training target.To optimize the curriculum system of higher vocational colleges in China,this paper takes six vocational schools in Gansu province for example and then makes an investigation on the homogenization phenomenon by the methods of literature,text data analysis and case description and so on.Based on the basic concepts of curriculum and the homogenization of curriculum in higher vocational colleges,this paper expounds the basic principle of the curriculum of higher vocational colleges to analyze the status quo of the curriculum setting in sample schools.Then,based on the curriculum plans of the computer major,this paper make a survey about if the homogenization exists in the higher vocational college.It is found that the training objectives of the higher vocational colleges in Gansu Province are not clear and there is a tendency to be assimilated.Secondly,the course content is duplicated,the course structure is unreasonable,the course evaluation method is single,which makes the curriculum system of colleges lack the characteristics,so there's homogeneity of curriculum in higher vocational colleges.Next,this paper analyzes the reasons of the homogenization of curriculum from the internal and external perspective.For example,the professional orientation of vocational colleges is not clear,the curriculum structure is similar,the course content is not characteristic,the evaluating indicator is single,as well as the participation of the government and enterprise is not enough etc.Finally,based on the analysis of the present situation and the reasons,this paper puts forward the following strategies to deal with the homogenization of the curriculum setting in higher vocational colleges: firstly,clarify the training objectives.Secondly,develop the curriculum's structure according to the professional characteristics.Thirdly,integrate the high-quality teaching resources to strengthen the construction of the courses.Fourthly,build a textbook system with the characteristics for higher vocational colleges higher vocational colleges.Fifthly,form a diversified and wide range of curriculum evaluation system.
