The Effects Of Changes In The Age Structure Of Population On The Household Consumption In China

Over the past thirty years,especially since the late nineties,China's final consumption rate has been declining,in addition to other factors,China's total population age structure changes is a important reasont.Firstly,we analyze the age structure of the population and changes in consumer since the reform and opening up,focuses on the age structure of the population size and influence consumer consumption structure theory mechanism.Further adoption of inter-provincial panel data in the year of 2005-2014,young-age dependency ratio and the old-age dependency ratio as a variable population age structure is introduced using a vector autoregression model of population age structure on the level of consumption of the relationship between the empirical test.The results show that young-age dependency ratio have positive impact on the level of consumption,the old-age dependency ratio have negative impact on the consumer level.Use of time-series data in 2000-2014,the use of gray correlation degree analysis of China's population age structure of the relationship between consumption structure of an empirical test.The results showed that the population of children on food,clothing and educational entertainment spending large labor force on clothing,housing and household equipment and supplies spending large elderly population impact on health care spending is large,and for the elderly population is rural residents,to build houses for their children so that they affect consumer spending on live well.Overall,the impact of population age structure of the consumption structure of rural residents is slightly larger than the impact on urban residents' consumption structure.On the basis of theoretical analysis and empirical analysis,combined the face of China's population age structure and the consumption of our country,made a number of policy recommendations to the government.
