| With the development of urbanization and the increase of rural surplus labor force,an increasing number of rural young and middle-aged people have become migrant workers and adapted to urban life and settled down in the cities.They bring their parents to cities as well either for the convenience of taking care of parents or for parents' help with looking after children.In this context,the migrant rural elderly gradually grow into a big social group.It is a great challenge for them to leave the place where they spent most of their life and adapt to new urban life.In this paper,according to the questionnaire survey of 20 rural elderly people in the Tianqiao district,the paper concluded that that the migrant rural elderly had difficulty in adapting to urban life style,the lack of interpersonal communication and shortage of leisure and entertainment activities resulted in psychological depression,and loss of confidence in urban life.Therefore,it is worthwhile for the society to pay attention to the adaptation of the migrant rural old people.we,as social workers have more responsibility to help the group.A typical case was selected first through the questionnaire,and then the difficulties they encounter in daily life,interpersonal communication and leisure and entertainment were taken as study object,and professional skills and methods of social work for intervention were used to solve the main problem of the case.In order to improve the autonomy and enthusiasm of the client in his adaption to city life,the author and the client worked out the plan together.With the help of the intervention program,the client gradually established his social network system,and could make full use of their own advantages and resources to solve the problem,and ultimately adapt to city life.Study on the problems of migrant rural elderly via case work intervention enriches research materials in this field and contributes efforts to help the migrant rural elderly adapt to urban life. |
