| Opinion leaders are the ‘active people' who provide information to others in the network of interpersonal communication.Network opinion leaders among college student in this article refer to those who play the role as opinion leaders and lead the public opinions in campus network.As being high-qualified,college students have an important influence on others through the internet.This paper aims to study on the opinion leaders in network among college students and gives some suggestions for their training.Based on the theories of communications and psychology and by the method of literature research and case study,the paper focuses on the following topics: the formation and types of college student network opinion leaders,their characteristics and action mechanism,the necessity and approaches of training and guiding of the group.The paper is divided into five parts.The first part is an introduction of the basic concepts of opinion leaders,network opinion leaders,college student network opinion leaders and the ‘gatekeeper',and the related theories of communication and psychology.The second part is the formation and types of college student network opinion leaders.There are four kinds of their formation: the spontaneous type,the self-conscious type,the passive type,and the mixture type.In addition,it makes a classification of the group according to the duration of action and individual roles.The third part is their characteristics and functions.It points out that the group possesses abilities of written communication and logical thinking and has a rich knowledge.They can influence others through processing,interpreting,spreading,disseminating,and delivering information.The fourth part is the necessity of the training and guiding of college student network opinion leaders.The research finds that the group has both positive and negative influence on others.Therefore,it is necessary to train and guide their performance.The last part discusses the measures for training and guiding. |
