Take the overseas students' martial arts teaching of Xinjiang regular institutions of higher learning as research target,utilize questionnaire method,interviewing method,field observation technique and other methods to conduct an investigation and analysis on the development situation of overseas students' martial arts teaching in Xinjiang regular institutions of higher learning,and propose relevant development countermeasures,the research result shows:(1)Among Xinjiang regular institutions of higher learning,Xinjiang University,Xinjiang Normal University,Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics,Xinjiang Agricultural University,Shihezi University,Yili Normal University,Changji University has set up martial arts curricular for overseas student;most martial arts curricular for overseas student in Xinjiang regular institutions of higher learning is required course with 16-60 class hours differently;course assessment mainly includes checking-in,daily performance,martial arts technique test,course supervision is charged by relevant leaders on site or martial arts teacher.The existing problems: training program of martial arts class,imperfect teaching programme and a check-up system,small strength on monitoring martial arts curricular,imperfect reward and penalty system of martial arts curricular etc.(2)The martial arts teacher of overseas students in Xinjiang regular institutions of higher learning consists of two ways-campus recruitment and outside recruitment,education background is mainly post-graduate,teacher's professional title includes lecturer,associate professor etc;the principal teaching content of martial arts' theory course for overseas student is Taijiquan culture,the major teaching content of technique course includes basic training,Taijiquan,Shaolin boxing etc;take Chinese as the principal teaching language;the frequency of organizing martial arts teaching activity is 1-3 times.The existing problems: soft teaching regulation management,obstacle in teaching language,rare organizing teaching activity etc.(3)Overseas students in Xinjiang regular institutions of higher learning are mainly from Central Asian countries,the forms of learning includes short-term language study,undergraduate course,postgraduate course etc;60.9% overseas students of Xinjiang regular institutions of higher learning know Chinese martial arts by kung fu movie;58.0% overseas students take learning Chinese culture as the motivation to learn martial arts;74.8% overseas students love Taijiquan;most overseas students have a basic satisfaction to the content of martial arts curricular in their colleges and universities;the major influencing factor of learning martial artsfor overseas students is unable to remember the movements.The existing problems:weak consciousness of curricular rules for many overseas students,weak concept of martial arts' standardized practice etc.(4)Xinjiang University,Yili Normal University possess dedicated martial arts exercise place for overseas student,martial arts teaching in other universities and colleges for overseas student is in playground,classroom,corridor space etc.In terms of martial arts equipment,Xinjiang Normal University has most species and total amount,only Xinjiang University of Finance and Economics has uniform martial arts costume and martial arts dedicated practice shoes in the seven universities.(5)The development countermeasure of martial arts teaching for overseas student in Xinjiang regular institutions of higher learning: relevant departments should pay attention to overseas student martial arts curricular;make cultivation scheme,teaching outline,check rule of martial arts curricular in a scientific way;strengthen supervision of martial arts teaching;perfect teaching reward and penalty system;increase input on martial arts teaching facility.Teachers should deepen the explanation of martial arts theory;select rational content of martial arts technique course;focus on the improvement and innovation of martial arts teaching method;strengthen the management of martial arts teaching conventions;pay attention to the competition,performance and external communication about martial arts.The overseas students should take a correct learning attitude to martial arts;definite the study target of martial arts;improve self-consciousness of class regulation;focus on standardized practice of martial arts;develop struggling spirit of hard work and practice;participate in various martial arts activities actively.
