Requested by the government educational revolution and elementary education development,Chinese Ministry of Education implemented Plans for Specially Established Positions for Teachers in Rural Compulsory Education with other three ministries in May,2006 in order to solve the shortage of teachers in rural areas as well as to broad up the paths of employment for graduates.Teachers in special positions in rural compulsory education have been developed under the effect of such plans.They are newcomers to rural education.However,they may face levels of difficulty which raises the attention of the whole society.This research analyzes the fact and reason for the dilemma of specially contracted teachers in Town X,Shan Xi Province and proposes improvement suggestions based on the perspective of social support.This dissertation is divided into four parts: First,review the researches on social support theory and the plans for specially established positions which provides theoretic basis for the dilemma.Second,summarize the difficult situations which teachers may face by interviewing them.Third,analyze the reason for such dilemma from the three aspects of government support system,social support system and individual support system and draw the conclusion that it closely lies on the weakness and lack of social support.Finally,propose improvement solutions on the levels of government,schools,society and individual from the perspective of social support.
