The education of full-time master of engineering emphasizes on engineering application,mainly focusing on cultivating professional talents with excellent professional qualities who are capable of dealing with practical problems.Therefore,having strong practical ability is the significant characteristic and basic requirement between full-time master of engineering and academic master.However,practical knowledge is the basis and premise for practical ability formation.Hence,studying on the generation mechanism and empirical study of practical knowledge for full-time masters of engineering is of theoretical and practical significance for improving practical ability as well as satisfying the economic society's urgent demand for highlevel talents.This paper,learning from previous researches,emphasizes on full-time masters of engineering as its research objects.(1)It explores generative mechanism of practical knowledge of full-time masters of engineering,and builds SEIA model of practical knowledge of full-time masters of engineering from the perspective of knowledge paradigm and practical knowledge transformation according to Ikujiro Nonaka's SECI model;(2)Based on SEIA model and research content,this paper designs the questionnaire and conducts a survey on the generative details of practical knowledge towards 300 full-time masters of engineering from 12 representative fields,by using SPSS and bootstrap to testify the survey result.The result indicates that the mediating effect of knowledge exchange is stronger than that of knowledge integration.As for divisible variate of intervening variable,the effects of the intervening variable of the smoothness of the interaction and the frequency of integration are not significant.Combining survey and interview,this paper finds problems remained in four phases respectively.In the phase of knowledge learning,problems includes plain learning,detail neglecting,practice time deficiency and energy deprivation.In the phase of knowledge exchange,the frequency of the communication between teachers and students is low and the smoothness exists problem either.In the phase of knowledge integration,students are lack of initiative during introspect summary and communicate with each other less during integration process.In the phase of knowledge application,the scope of knowledge application is narrow and application process lacks;(3)To countering these problems,this paper makes suggestions such as optimizing practice arrangement,strengthening practice supervision,carrying out inductive and integrative skill training,enhancing teacher-student communication,implementing comprehensive practice guidance,learning transposition thinking,improving practice motivation,etc.,thus establishing policies for relevant administrative departments and providing reference for colleges and universities and companies to improve practice capacities of full-time masters of engineering.
