Since the publication of《Opinions on cultivation of Full-time Postgraduates》,the process of education of full-time engineering postgraduates came into a fast-developing period.After 6-7 years of development,what kind of college-supporting services did universities provide to full-time engineering postgraduates? How well did the postgraduates` professional capacities ameliorate after 2-3 years` study? How did college-supporting services impact on these postgraduates` improvement?This paper is based on theory of both university and college influence and student participation,particularized of a specified university,given structural equation model to testify how universities impact on postgraduates` professional capacity improvement.Facts from research:(1)Nearly 80% of given postgraduates acquired improvements of innovation ability while they are still at school and were satisfied with the abundance of their theoretical lessons of professional foundation and practical courses.(2)This research testified the adaptability of college impact theory and students participating theory.University and college environment doesn`t directly effect on the cultivation of full-time engineering postgraduates` professional capacity but do effect by generating mediate influence taken students participation as an agency.(3)There are 3 elements in how university and college environment improve students` professional capacity: 1,In-class participation;2,off-campus participation;3,interactions between teachers and students in campus.(4)This research enriched the college impact theory,pointed out that differences among different college effect and mechanisms exist in cultivating students` professional capacity.In-campus courses,off-campus practice and different teaching methodologies generated convincing mediate influence on improving students` professional capacity(speciality capacity,methodology capacity and engineering innovation capacity)in different levels.Off-campus practice courses made the greatest difference amongst.
