A Study On Governance Of The Further Education College For England

Since the reform and opening-up,China has made vigorous progress in the development of education.With the continuous implementation of the talent strategy of rejuvenating the country,we have been making greater development in compulsory education and higher education.A main factor restricting the development of China education is the higher vocational education.Higher vocational education quality is not so high,so higher vocational colleges can only survive.Since 2012,undergraduate education took the stage.In order to develop higher vocational education in our country,we should actively learn from other countries.Britain is one of the countries whose education system is rather complete.Further education has a long history in England,where is known as the "further education town".The college of further education is the main place for the implementation of further education.Through the research on the governance of those colleges,we had a better understanding of its performance.We can also learn a lot from the precious experience of those colleges.This paper mainly uses comparative research method,historical research method and research method related with countries.The author first makes a brief introduction of the development history of the British college of further education,and then explains the faith and characters of the college of further education.After that,the paper analyses the advanced management experience in the aspects of teacher governance,students governance,curriculum governance,fund use and supervision and a relevant summary is made as well.Especially since the twenty-first century,the British college of further education is faced with various challenges.Still,it is constantly updating its capacity in various aspects.To promote the employment of students,and strive to improve the level of students’ and teachers’ professional skills,it is always on the way and finally obtains wide social recognition.Higher vocational education in China is also faced with crisis and challenges from all sides,and we have to find a way to go through.Finally,through the study of the British college of education,China benefits from their way of governance and we are sure to improve our capacity too.
