Taking the media we see on the screen as a carrier,the two-dimension culture is a social phenomenon formed among the youth.The two-dimension,called “utopia” by many junior high school students,impacts them greater and greater,but to different level,self-consciousness included.Self-consciousness,a multi-level psychological function system,is the individual's self-understanding,including three kinds of psychological activities: cognition,emotion and faith.The factors that influence individual self-awareness are multifaceted,and culture is one of the key factors.This paper explores the relationship between the two-dimension culture and the development of self-consciousness of junior high school students by investigating the level of self-consciousness and the use of media among junior high school students.Through the study,it is found that:(1)the overall development of self-consciousness of junior high school students is relatively good and the overall level of self-consciousness is different in grade;especially the sense of satisfaction,consciousness and self-control.With the increase of grade,the overall level of self-consciousness is decreasing;gender is the main on appearance evaluation,especially for male whose score is significantly higher than female's.(2)The two-dimension culture has a certain influence on the development of self-consciousness on junior high school students.Different types of the two-dimension media have different effects on the development of self-consciousness and the dimensions of junior high school students.(3)The time with animation has the most significant effect on self-consciousness,which has a significant positive effect on total score,morality,sense of satisfaction and self-control;the frequency contacting with games has a significant positive effect on appearance,and the time of knowing the game has a significant negative predictive effect on self-consciousness and self-control.The time of reading light novels has a significant negative predictive effect on self-control.Therefore,in order to get more advanced,mature self-consciousness state for junior high school students,it needs two factors: environment and students' subjective initiative.The government macro-management on the filed of media,the media's self-discipline,education of family and school can provide the better environment for students.The self-quality of junior high school students is the main factor that can effectively exclude some adverse effects of the two-dimension culture.
