Group Work Practice Exploration On Improving The Employment Ability Of Urban Low-income Family Members

With the rapid development of economy and society,the demand of the urban low-income families personnel also changed.Lower premiums can not satisfy the urban low-income families’ needs physically and mentally.Urban low-income families personnel will need the enhancement of ability to improve the quality lives,to acquire skills for employment,to create wealth,thus improving their living conditions and lifting themselves out of poverty materially and spiritually,which is in line with the connotation of professional social work and the starting point of practice.Via using professional skills and method,professional social work focuses on the principle of helping others to make these people help themselves,thus meeting the comprehensive needs of urban low-income family members.Owing to illness,disability,children’s education and other factors,the living pressure of the urban low-income families personnel results into their strong desire for employment.The social worker visited 15 low-security families in the community of the and found that the demand for employment of low-security families in the city was concentrated in terms of employment information,employment guidance,employment skills training and social support networks.Social workers based on social support theory,Maslow hierarchy of needs theory,advantage perspective theory as the theoretical basis of group work intervention,design group plan,To recruit 9 low-subsistence family members who have the ability to work and have the will to obtain employment to carry out group activities,through "original fate","discovering one’s own advantages","your skills I am training","bazaar so easy","my Future is not a Dream" five group activities to help team members achieve their goal of improving their job skills.After each group activity,the group members and social workers’ performance were summarized.When the group activities were finished,the group was evaluated through process assessment and result assessment.Through the practical exploration of improving the employ ability of urban minimum subsistence family members through group work,the following two conclusions are drawn:From two aspects,the degree of achieving the goal of the group and the advantages of the group work,it is shown that the group work plays animportant role in improving the employ ability of the urban minimum subsistence family members.It is necessary for social workers to improve the employment ability of urban minimum subsistence family members by doing a good job as the supplement of employment assistance,the coordinator of employment resources,and the promotion of employment ability.
