Composition writing,as we know,accounts for more than half of the scores in College Entrance Examination on Chinese.It has a predominent status among questions of all subjects.People often believe that students good at writing compositions are inclined to succeed in examninations.Therefore,the importance of writing can never be emphasized too much.Today's high school students write their compositions in a dissatisfactory way.Firstly,many high school students,for lack of interest,misjudging that advance is rare in writing.In this case,they are unwilling to take time and efforts for writing practice.Also,many problems can be found in the writings of high school students.For instance,they often finish their writings in a chaotic logic,using dull language,or in a superficial conception.The worring reading condition of high school students can be attributed to many reasons such as insufficiency of reading time,inefficiencey of reading process and vulgar choices for reading contents.In fact,reading is complementary to writing,which acts like its swings.The Story of the Stone,an inclusive and profound work,is a cultural tressure of China.In this paper,values on writing of high school students by reading The Story of the Stone is focused to discuss.Cases are also analyzed to help students learn writing skills,aesthetic ability and cultural heritage which are imitated by reading The Story of the Stone.In this way,the positive funcition of reading The Story of the Stone for promoting writing of high school students can be reflected.When it comes to the problem of how students can do efficient reading,or how they can apply practice in their writing,I will do some strategic research.I will make every effort to make a bridge between teachers and students for their cooperation in order that student's writing can be well-advanced.
