According to the Outline of the National Plan for Medium and Long-Term Education Reform and Development(2010-2020),our country highly support and encourage the general high schools to run with their own features.Some capable general high schools can provide vocational education courses taking account of own situation,and explore the developing model of Integrating General Education and Vocational Education(IGEVE).The school-running model of IGEVE is a growing trend of modern education reformation,also the exploration and practice of implementing the diversified talents concept into fundamental education.When it comes to the actual status of our country,secondary education has both general education and vocational education,the disconnection of them cannot fulfill the demand of the fast-changing development of society technologies.In the secondary education stage,the students in both general high school and vocational high school need to not only strengthen the study of cultural knowledge,but also confront with their career choices.In order to build talents suitable for new period,we need to enhance the pilot programs of IGEVE.This paper has five chapters:Chapter 1 Preface.This chapter is to introduce the researching background,goal and meaning of this paper;to summarize the research findings of abroad models for IGEVE;meanwhile to establish the research approach of this paper.Chapter 2 Concepts Definitions and Theoretical Foundation.This chapter defines the core concepts,explains the theoretical foundation of integrating general education and vocational education,namely,Educational Equality,Human Comprehensive Development and Multiple Intelligence.The fast-changing development of society economy and technology lay a foundation for Educational Equality,integrating both exposes and indeed comprehensively develops the unique intelligence of each student.Chapter 3 IGEVE Models of USA,UK and Germany.Integrating general education and vocational education has become one of the popular tends of international education reformation.Some countries respectively gained rich experiences,and formed their own features,for example,the sophisticate comprehensive high school model in USA,the keep-changing credentials system in UK,ternary shunt of general education in Germany.All the above are widely recognized by most scholars.This chapter also enlightens domestic integrating general education and vocational education by comparing research data.Chapter 4 Domestic Models of Integrating General Education and Vocation Education.First this chapter looks back our domestic attempts of connecting general education and vocational education in last century that were impacted by western ideas.Later follows a summary of the developing status after Chinese Reform and Opening.Finally,this chapter elaborates the several common models of our domestic current development: in-school courses change and addition,inter-school collaboration and transition,and comprehensive high school.Chapter 5 The Present Situation Analysis and Solutions for S High school.In recent years,the pilot programs are launched in some areas of China,and some constructive experiences are accumulated,however overall we are still in a starting and exploring status.This chapter chooses one of the rural pilot programs,S High School,as the research object,and provides foundation for the further implementation of integrating general education and vocational education.Integrating General Education and Vocational Education increases the overall quality of society population and accelerate the development of society economy,meanwhile provides comprehensive,suitable education and reflects the education concept of student oriented education.
