With the development of related physical activity training methods in foreign countries, the multi-directional movement training method has been widely recognized abroad, and it has been highly evaluated in terms of improving the results orientation of physical fitness and competition ability. However,at home, relevant research is rarely involved. At present,it is temporarily in a relatively vacuum state with both information, knowledge, and even practices are slightly lacked. The corresponding skills of athletes in the training process are grasped slightly slower. Therefore, this article will make a research on the application value and specific training content of multi-direction training methods in football training, and selects specific training content suitable for the development of multi-directional movement ability of rugby players in order to strengthen their body, grasp the basic skills and possess competitive ability. In this paper, literature data, expert interviews, statistical analysis, and experimental methods were used. And 14 athletes from Beijing Chaoyang Rugby team were randomly divided into experimental group and control group. And multi-directional movement training was conducted to explore the influence of multi-directional movement training methods on the speed and sensitivity of rugby players. And the test indicators include FMS test,30-meter run test,5,10,15 and 20 meter turn-back run,800-meter run,AFL sensitivity test,Illinois test and "T" run test. And independent sample T test and paired sample T test were performed for each index of the experimental group and the control group before and after the experiment, and the following conclusions were reached:1.Multi-directional movement training and traditional training can improve FMS scores of rugby players, but the former has better training effect than the latter. The multi-directional movement training can significantly improve the rugby player's performance on Deep Squat,In-Line Lunge,Rotary Stability,as well as Hurdle-step and Trunk Stability. However, the control group is in the test of these 5 actions,Deep Squat score reduce, the scores of the other four movements increased with no significant differences. The two groups of training methods did not significantly improve the flexibility scores of the Active Straight Leg Raise and Shoulder Mobility.2.Multi-directional movement training and traditional training can improve the speed of football players, both of which have their own strengths. In terms of the 30-meter race, both groups of athletes achieved significant improvement in scores before and after the experiment, but the 30-meter race performance of the control group athletes increased more than that of the control group; In terms of the 5,10,15 and 20-meter round trips andthe 800-meter run,the performance of the athletes in the experimental group was significantly improved, while the results of the athletes in the control group were slightly increased but not significant.3.Multi-directional movement training and traditional training can improve the sensitivity of rugby players, but the former is better than the latter. The specific performance is that after the experiment, the athletes of the experimental group have an significantly improvement in AFL(with/without ball),Illinois, and “T” shape running, while the results of the control group athletes are slightly increased but not significant.
