China's economic prosperity has brought a lot of demands for buildings and relevant opportunities.However,with gradual rationalization of China's construction industry,previous architecture teaching models,which are results of ordinary colleges blindly following and simply imitating key colleges,are no longer suitable for their development.This forces most ordinary colleges to change their teaching models for architectonics.Thus,they are required to carry out in-depth systemic studies in accordance with their own conditions and characteristics of architecture major,local regional characteristics,and actual demands of market economy to make their architecture teaching system adapt to the development trend of this era and continuously explore teaching models and talent development methods that can satisfy social development and market needs.Only in this way,will they not be weeded out by the society in the development.In this paper,the teaching model of architectonics adopted by Guangxi University of Science and Technology was surveyed and analyzed.According to the government's talent development objectives and educational philosophy for ordinary application-oriented colleges,taking into consideration features of constructional engineering technological majors and requirements for student development,the relationships between market demands and teaching models were built;positioning and occupational abilities of students in application-oriented colleges were studied and explored;the teaching model of architectural design curriculum which is the major curriculum that improves students' occupational abilities in application-oriented colleges was analyzed as a highlight;teaching objectives,selection and integration of core courses,and development of teaching practice models of architectural design curriculum were systematically elaborated;and the architectural design course in first semester of junior year was taken as an example to describe the detailed teaching process and effects.In addition,the market-based application-oriented talent development curriculum teaching model proposed in this paper was of some innovativeness and practicability.At last,some constructive opinions and suggestions were proposed,in order to solve relevant problems.This paper was expected to provide some reference for further study of architecture teaching models of Guangxi University of Science and Technology,so as to provoke thoughts of domestic similar colleges about architecture teaching.
