EU-Dalli District Investment Promotion Conference Han Ying Communication Practice Report

This is a report on a practice of Chinese-English consecutive interpreting.The report summarizes and analyzes a consecutive interpreting task that the author takes for “European Union-Daoli District Investment Attraction Introduction and Recommendation Conference”.The author uses “Introduction and Recommendation of Daoli District” by Yu Jie,deputy head of Daoli District Government,as the material of analysis in this report.The interpreting process is discussed and studied from three aspects: preparation before interpreting,difficulties arising during interpreting,the relevant coping skills as well as the conclusion.The report mainly introduces the translating skills of the numeral abbreviation with Chinese characteristics,Chinese four-character structures,Chinese sentences without subjects and long sentences,which are common in texts of investment attraction.On the basis of analysis and summary after a systematic learning of interpreting,the author is more aware of the gains and losses in the interpreting process,and realizes the significance of pre-task preparation,appropriate interpreting skills and strong psychological quality.Hopefully,this report may be of some certain reference significance for interpreters to improve interpreting skills and quality,and to do their interpreting tasks related with investment attraction better.
