Geography new curriculum standards clearly stated: students are the geography masters of learning,teachers in teaching should encourage students to actively explore,learn to use a variety of methods and activities to access to knowledge,comprehend scientific ideas and concepts,comprehend scientists study the nature of the scientific method.Application of discovery teaching mode on purpose is to develop the students' ability to learn self-inquiry,enable students to form self-exploration,cooperative inquiry consciousness.It can culture the students' lifelong learning,innovation and quality service to the community in the future and the creativity,to lay a solid foundation for the free development of students.Application of discovery teaching mode effectiveness of implementing pro status of the student body,to more in line with the new concept of education.This paper is divided into four sections to explain the application of discovery teaching mode in high school geography teaching.The first part is an overview of discovery teaching mode.The discovery teaching mode is under the guidance of teachers,then the students to actively participate in teaching activities,through proactive thinking and inquiry,to found that internal relations of things.As the main line problems,the student as main body,the Teacher – guided and the development-oriented are the discovery teaching mode's feature.The second part describes the basis for application of discovery teaching mode in the high school geography teaching.The theoretical basis of the Cognition-Development of Learning Theory,Constructivist Learning Theory and Zone of proximal development.Based on the reality of the geography teaching,the geography teacher professional development and the students geography ability to explore.From three aspects to the analysis found the necessity of application of discovery teaching mode in the high school geography teaching.The third part is the key part of this article.It discusses the discovery of teaching mode construction in high school geography teaching.It is mainly a “geography of urbanization on the environment,”a class,for example.From the analysis of the learning situation,the creation of situations;ask questions to guide inquiry;grouping cooperation discussion exchange;study the law,summarized;identifying emerging issues,thinking and training to illustrate that the specific operationthe of application of discovery teaching mode in the high school geography teaching.The fourth part is the application of discovery teaching mode in the high school geography teaching of reflective teaching.The application of discovery teaching mode in the high school geography teaching should note the use of the flexibility and selectivity,prominence to the dominant position of students and focus on the differences.
