Extra curricular reading is very important for junior middle school students. But the current situation is not optimistic, especially in ethnic minority areas, the author was born in Inner Mongolia, in the survey has a unique advantage. Therefore, this paper aimed at minority area(media and sources of interest and the type of Inner Mongolia Ulanhot city in Mongolian Middle School) students in extracurricular reading, reading quantity and time, and extracurricular reading, reading habits and role, extracurricular reading of the influencing factors of the five aspects of the investigation and analysis, and puts forward feasible countermeasures and suggestions. In order to improve the quality of education in minority areas of Chinese reading, and to cultivate the reading ability of students in minority areas of the Chinese, requires every participant, whether teachers or students, even schools and families must achieve the ability to understand oneself, in accordance with their aptitude, ability to itself as the main point according to the time to accumulate and improve, also should make good use of the limited teaching conditions to seek an innovative teaching model, which can effectively promote the Ulanhot city of Mongolia minority middle school Chinese reading in the reading teaching innovation, can also provide practical experience for the majority of the Chinese teachers' reference; and can fully mobilize the enthusiasm of the students thus, independent reading ability, effectively improve the Ulanhot city Mongolia nationality middle school Chinese reading ability of middle school students. Is great influence factors, family factors, in the final analysis, find a solution, it should be from the three aspects of the students themselves and hardware equipment coupled with environmental factors to convert Mongolian middle school students to carry out extra-curricular reading ideas, to help students improve their reading ability. According to the survey, as reflected in the timely detection and study for the local teaching strategies for effective suggestions, starting from their own, and strive to achieve minority middle school students' extracurricular reading ability greatly improved, gradually narrowing and other developed areas of middle school students' Chinese reading ability of the gap.
