Currently, Group cooperative teaching mode is a popular and effective teaching mode in the world, which represent the trend of the world education. So far, the group corporative teaching mode has been applied to junior middle school and senior high school students. In addition, aimed at solving these problems, some strategies will be put forward to improve the effectiveness of corporative learning and provide guidance for the geography teachers so that targeted cooperative teaching model can be used appropriately in different learning period. When comparing the effectiveness of cooperative learning between junior middle school students and senior high school students, the author used three research instruments which included questionnaire, interview and documentary study to conduct this research. After setting the research topic, the students in Bing He school of Xi'an were chosen as the research subject. Based on the procedures and the factors of corporative learning, the author compiled the questionnaire for junior middle school students and senior high school students respectively. The purpose of the questionnaire is to get a general ideal of students' attitude towards the procedures and the effectiveness of the cooperative learning. In the meanwhile, the author interviewed all the geography teachers in junior middle school and senior high school of Bing He to know the detailed procedures of the cooperative teaching mode so as to figure out the distinction of corporative learning in geography classes between different stages. After that, the author reviewed the related literature to analyze and conclude the hidden reasons of these differences so as to lay a foundation for the research. After the comparison of group cooperative learning between junior middle school and senior high school students'geography classes, some conclusions were made.1. There are great differences between junior middle school and senior high school students'cooperative learning in geography classes under the same group cooperative teaching mode, which directly influence the effectiveness of the cooperative learning between junior middle school and senior high school students.2. The differences of cooperative learning between junior middle school and senior high school students'geography classes mainly reflect in the following aspect:different satisfaction between two stages; different extent of teachers'transformation of teaching idea; different preparation before classes between the two stages; different organization and implication of cooperative learning; the differences of students' involvement in cooperative learning; differences in classroom order; differences of the evaluation of cooperative learning and so on and these differences suggested that the group cooperative learning performed more effectively in junior middle school students' geography class.3. After analyzing these differences of cooperative learning between junior middle school and senior high school students' geography classes, the author found out the reasons that lead to these distinctions. They mainly lie in the different mental stages that students were going through between students in different learning period. What's more, the differences of the class capacity and the extent of difficulty of teaching material are also the main reasons that caused the differences of cooperative learning between junior middle school and senior high school students' geography classes4. Aimed at improving the effectiveness of cooperative learning in senior high school students' geography class, this thesis put forward some strategies from three aspect:the preparations before class, teachers' guidance and regulation during the process of and the evaluation after the cooperative study. This research will help geography teachers realize the situation of cooperative learning in different stages so that the implementation of cooperative teaching mold can be more targeted.
