The concept of "key competency" has been promptly promoted in the international and domestic education circle in recent years,especially a upsurge of "key competency" in primary and secondary schools.Although many primary and secondary schools show great enthusiasm for "key competency" and conduct the relevant exploration actively,the research is still at a relatively high level and includes many conceptual and the "key competency" framework,and the curriculum construction on the " key competency " is mainly on the macroscopic level,but lacking the relevant curriculum construction and implementation of the individual school.In a word,the researches on "key competency" exhibit the characteristics which focus on theory and macro study,but ignore practice and empirical research.X has set up the "key competency" research project team since 2011,focused on the curriculum construction and implementation with the integration of "key competency" and primary and junior high schools and explored the effective way of "key competency" in the courses after establishing the "key competency" framework in line with the actual situation of the district.Y middle school,as a member of the project team,also actively participates in the study.They conduct the school-based analysis on the "key competency”,set up the curriculum school-based system,develop and construct school-based curriculum combined with the school characteristics and implement curriculum in the whole school based on the relevant curriculum system.This is a case study of the integration of "key competency" with curriculum reform,which focuses on the cultivation of middle school students' key competencies among the national,local and school-based curriculum instead of discussing its concept or defining the framework.As a member of Y middle school,the author witnesses the whole process of "key competency" school-based curriculum construction and implementation,summarizes the school-based curriculum system based on "key competency",records the curriculum implementation,concludes achievements and problems of its implementation,analyzes the factors that affect the curriculum implementation through classroom observation,interviews,text review and other research method sand then puts forward some suggestions on the combination of "key competency" and curriculum reform,which provides the reference for curriculum reform in secondary schools.This paper is divided into five parts:The first chapter mainly explains the sources,the research questions and significance of the topic,defines the concepts of the key competency and the curriculum and summarizes the research status of the two on this basis and finally elaborates the research methods and research process.The second chapter elaborates the school-based analysis of the "key competency" framework in Y middle school in detail and analyzes the school-based curriculum based on "key competency" after introducing the basic situation of Y middle school and the curriculum implementation.The third chapter implements the school-based curriculum,analyzes the teaching strategies of "highlighting the students' position,building learning scaffold,stimulating students' participation and adapting to students' differences" and introduces the positive attempt and exploration of various disciplines about key competencies cultivation based on the construction of the "key competency" curriculum system in Y middle school.The fourth chapter summarizes the effectiveness of school-based curriculum implementation based on "key competency" in Y middle school by interviews,textual and classroom observation,expounds the problems in curriculum implementation and analyzes its influencing factors.The fifth chapter is the summary and prospect of this paper,which illustrates the completed tasks and achievements and puts forward some suggestions in the process of curriculum system construction and implementation based on top-level design "key competencies".
