In recent years,the state has introduced " plans to further accelerate the development of special education ",and " to promote the construction of special education schools in the central and western regions ".It emphasizes that the information technology courses of special education schools should be carried out according to the characteristics of students with disabilities and vigorously implement information technology and the integration of various disciplines of special education schools,improve the information literacy of students with disabilities.In 2016,the Ministry of Education recently issued the "Blind School compulsory education information technology curriculum standards" clearly put forward the reform of blind school information technology curriculum teaching philosophy,design,objectives,and other aspects.Because of the limitations of their cognitive systems,many blind students have problems of lack of awareness and ability to obtain information.Their access to computer and the Internet is usually later than ordinary students.Information technology courses are the main channels for blind students to learn to use information technology and development of information literacy.However the preliminary literature search showed that there was little research on the teaching of information technology courses in schools for the blind.Therefore,this study is based on the background of reforming special education,taking Xi'an M special school as an example,and chooses the status of information technology course of blind schools as our research object,and conducts systematic research.This paper presents investigation and analysis of teacher,student,textbook,target,environment,evaluation and method of information technology courses.Student are at the center of a teaching environment.Our analysis concluded that there are problems existed in the information technology teaching of school for the blind.We expect to explore the following questions:what is the status of information technology curriculum at the school for the blind?from our investigation.?What are the opportunities and challenges facing the teaching of information technology curriculum in school for the blind?And What are the strategies and paths of teaching reform of information technology course in school for the blind?Therefore,this paper reports the teaching reform of special education curriculum using the current situation of information technology curriculum teaching in M special school of Xi'an as the target.Based on a literature study,I conducted in-depth observation for half a semester while I did my internship in M special school of the blind.I took advantage of the opportunity as a teacher of information technology course for the blind.I followed elements of the course and the "blind school compulsory education information technology curriculum standards" to develop a questionnaire.In order to triangulate the results of the questionnaire,I interviewed the teachers of information technology and selected students.Data analysis revealed challenges of the information technology course in school for the blind.We also presented strategies to improve information technology curriculum in school for the blind.The main content of the study is shown below:Chapter 1:Introduction.Background and research status of information technology curriculum domestically and abroad,the meaning,the purposes of the study,the content of the study,and research methods.Chapter 2:Basic concepts.Concepts of the visually impaired and classification standard,learning character:istics and behaviors of the blind students,and analysis of the information technology curriculum design.Chapter 3:Statistics and analysis of survey data of information technology course in blind school.Status of the information technology course of the school for the blind,index of the questionnaire,and the design of the questionnaire and interview protocol in order to understand the current teaching of information technology courses in school for the blind.Through the statistical analysis of questionnaires and interviews,I explored the factors that affected the teaching of information technology courses in schools for the blind.Chapter 4:Challenges of the information technology curriculum teaching of school for blind.Chapter 5:Strategies to solve the challenges.Strategies that were based on my literature review and interviews of information technology teachers in Nanjing S School.Chapter 6:Summary and outlook.Summaries of main research results and innovation.Suggestions to directions of further studies.
