With increasingly international situation,our country pays more and more attention to the quality of weapons and equipment.Radars are as important weapons,so it is very important to improve continuously the precision of them.Optimizing the research R & D and production of radars and introducing advanced management methods are important and effective ways to improve the quality and performance of radars.The problems of the production process for the radar in a research institution,China,was analyzed,such as long radar design period,large waste,more failure,which affect the development of radar and the usage of equipment.The production process of the application steps of 6Sigma in fire control radar production process was put forward from the short effective working hours,low search precision and poor reliability of core circuit of radars,et al.Taking the quality improvement of a store counter circuit in the fire control radar as an example,the improvement and implementation of project planning using 6Sigma was carried out from five stages which were the definition of project,the measurement and assessment of data,the analysis of failure reason,the actual improvement of propulsion and the control of improvement.According to my own work experiences and the investigations and interviews to my colleagues,and in combination with the practical situation in the production process of radars,6Sigma management is applied to the concrete practice of the radar production from the links that include the description of project,definition,analysis,control,improve and improvement of management et al.,which illustrates 6Sigma is an effective way to improve the management quality for companies.Research shows that the weak links in radar production process in a research institute were found through the application of 6Sigma method,and that the bottleneck problem in the practical work was solved by control and improve,and that the quality was improved,and that the cost was reduced and that the technical process was optimized.This is conducive to implement 6Sigma lean production for R&D and manufacturing institutes.
