Most of the existing research on the relationship between psychological states and creativity has been explored how the passive and adaptive psychological factors affect creativity,such as affect,mood states,job dissatisfaction and so on.On the historical background of "Pursue whatever you want to get and do whatever you want to do." and on the organizational context of positively empowering,activating individuals and humanistic concern,the research perspective about "psychological factors-creativity" remain to be expanded.Breaking through the limitations of passive or adaptive perspective,this paper discussed how basic psychological needs(BPNS)influences employee creativity(EC),as well as whether thriving at work(TW)played a mediating role bewween BPNS and EC,according to self-determined theory and “Integrative Model of Human Growth at Work”.In addition,the paper peoposed and proved some situational factors like Job autonomy(JA),knowledge sharing among colleague(KSC)and supervisor developmental feedback(SDF)played a positive role in meeting BPNS,promoting TW and enhancing EC.In this paper,897 full-time employees were taken as the research sample,and empirical analysis was conducted by using stepwise regression analysis and structural equation modeling.The result showed that:(1)BPNS and its three dimensions: autonomy needs(AN),competence needs(CN),and relatedness needs(RN)all have significant positive influence on EC;(2)BPNS and its three dimensions: AN,CN,and RN all have significant positive influence on TW and its two dimensions: vitality(VL)and learning(LN);(3)TW and its two dimensions: VL and LN both have significant positive influence on EC;(4)TW and its two dimensions: VL and LN plays a partial mediation role between BPNS and EC;(5)JA,KSC and SDF all have significant positive influence on BPNS and its three dimensions: AN,CN,and RN.
