As an important pillar industry in China,the construction industry has critical issues such as high energy consumption,high carbon emission and low efficiency.At present,the construction industry is the third largest high carbon industry after industry and agroforestry,which should be regarded as the key research field of energy saving and emission reduction.Under the precondition of maintaining the stable development of the construction industry,it is necessary to pay attention to carbon emission efficiency to control the carbon emission and realize the emission reduction effectively.In this paper,the carbon emission of construction industry,the carbon emission efficiency and its spatial distribution and the convergence of carbon emission efficiency in construction industry are studied concretely.The main findings are as follows:(1)The paper established a construction industry chain carbon emission accounting model including indirect carbon emission,then used the IPCC emission coefficient method to calculate the carbon emission of construction industry of China's 30 provinces in 2005-2015 years,and found that the carbon emissions appear to rise first and then decrease.In terms of composition,indirect carbon emissions from the production of building materials accounted for an average of 93.35% of total carbon emissions,and cement was the most carbon-emitting building material.Direct carbon emissions continued to rise overall during the study period,with large diesel emissions.There were large differences between different regions in carbon emissions of the construction industry,and the carbon emissions in the east were far beyond the central and western regions.The carbon emissions of construction in Zhejiang,Jiangsu,Hebei and Jilin Province were in the forefront of 30 provinces,Hainan,Ningxia and Qinghai construction industry were less.(2)Using SBM model to calculated the carbon emission efficiency of China's construction industry,it is found that the overall fluctuation of efficiency value increases,and the pure technical efficiency was the main reason restricting the carbon emission efficiency.The analysis of the distribution rule and the change trend of the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry in each province showed that there is distinct differences in carbon emissions efficiency between different province and the phenomenon of excessive energy input redundancy and unexpected output.East and middle regions carbon emission efficiency in construction industry was high,but low in western region.From the trend of change,the effective zone of carbon emission efficiency in the construction industry were mainly concentrated in the eastern region,with the passage of time gradually to the middle and the West,the gap of carbon emission efficiency between the three regions was shrinking.(3)Based on the Moran ' s I index,we found that the carbon emission efficiency of construction industry in China is spatially autocorrelation.Therefore,this paper added the spatial metering method when constructing the correlation convergent model,and the result showed that the carbon emission efficiency of the construction industry in the whole country,East and middle regions are both absolute ? convergence and conditional ? convergence,at the same time the western region divergence.The convergence speed is the fastest in the East region.There were H-H and L-L club convergence of the carbon emission efficiency of China's construction industry,in which the convergence rate of H-H region is much higher than that in other regions,and the rate of convergence of L-L region is higher than that in the east and the middle region.This paper is funded by "Research on the mechanism of carbon emission intensity and emission reduction in China's construction industry",and studied the spatial difference and convergence of carbon emission efficiency in construction industry,broadened the research depth of carbon emission efficiency in construction industry,and its research results can provide theory and policy support for the carbon emission reduction policies of construction industry,and promote the realization of carbon emission reduction targets in China.
