The Study On Production Technical Efficiency Of Wolfberry And Its Influencing Factors In Zhongning County

Zhongning County is the origin place of wolfberry.But production of wolfberry in Zhongning County tends to decline in recent years,in especial with the Qinghai,Xinjiang provinces and so on have successively applied the geographical indication for local wolfberry.As a result,the geographical advantages of Zhongning wolfberry are gradually losing.This paper tries to start from the micro perspective of farmers and combines with the actual questionnaire data in Zhongning County.This paper uses the stochastic frontier function(SFA)method and Tobit regression method to analyze the wolfberry in Zhongning County.Through the comprehensive analysis of production technical efficiency and influencing factors,the purpose is to measure the production technical efficiency level and to find out the main affecting factors of wolfberry in Zhongning County.The primary conclusions of this paper are summarized as followings:Firstly,this paper measures the production technical efficiency of wolfberry.The result of stochastic frontier indicates that the average level of overall production technical efficiency of wolfberry in Zhongning County is relatively low,only 0.7992.The production technical efficiency level of individual farmers who plants wolfberry is mainly distributed in the range of 0.6-0.9,and there is still much room for improvement.Among different production scale groups,the highest level of production technical efficiency is the large-scale sample farmer with scale of over 5 mu,and the value is 0.8109Secondly,this paper analyzes the factors which affect the production technical efficiency.The result of Tobit regression shows that edu,laborsize,techtrain and unitarea are significantly positively correlated with the production technical efficiency of Zhongning wolfberry;while age,nonfarm and plantyear are significantly negatively correlated with the production technical efficiency of Zhongning wolfberry.Thirdly,this paper raises the proposal about improving the production technical efficiency of Zhongning wolfberry.The specific suggestions include:strengthening the construction of talents,supporting the development of cooperatives,promoting the optimization and upgrading of the industry,enhancing the deep processing capabilities of wolfberry,expanding the industrial chain,strengthening the Zhongning wolfberry brand logo,and improving the taxation system.This paper provides an evaluation basis for promoting the development of Zhongning wolfberry and provides reference and basis for government to formulate relevant policies.
