Objective:To assess the effect of "direction of acupuncture in reinforcing-reducing m anipulation" vs mild reinforcing-reducing manipulation for patients diagnosed with liver-stomach disharmony syndrome functional dyspepsia. Methods:A randomized, controlled, single blind clinical trial was conducted.62 cases of patients that were diagnosed with liver-stomach disharmony syndrome functional dyspepsia were randomly divided into test group and control group,31 cases in each other. The test group was treated with the "direction of acupuncture in reinforcing-reducing manipulation",and the control group was treated with mild reinforcing-reducing manipulation. Both groups were carried out 4 courses,5 times for 1 course and follow-up visit was conducted one month after treatment finished.Taking dyspeptic symptoms, syndrome and quality of life of patients as indicator. When this research was accomplished,we compared the changes of functional dyspepsia index(FDI),syndrome scores, nepean dyspepsia symptom index(NDSI),and nepean dyspepsia life quality index(NDLQI)in the before, after and follow-up visit. Finally, the results of the study were statistically analyzed to evaluate its therapeutic efficacy.Results:1.The results were shown after 4 courses of treatment. Both groups can improve the individual symptoms, such as postprandial satiety, early satiety, epigastric pain and epigastric burning sensation in patients with FD of liver-stomach disharmony syndrome. However, there was no significant difference between the two groups in improving other individual symptoms(P>0.05).The obvious efficiency of the symptoms of postprandial satiety and epigastric was 68.42% and 76.19% in test group. The obvious efficiency of the symptoms of postprandial satiety and epigastric was 65.22% and 66.67% in control group. There was a significant difference in the overall efficacy between the two groups(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the test group and control group was 93.55% and 83.33% respectively.Whether within or between groups, there was a significant difference between the two groups in its FDI,syndrome,NDSI,and NDLQI before and after treatment(P<0.05).2.Follow-up results showed that there was a significant difference in each of the scale that is FDI,syndrome,NDSI,and NDLQI before and after treatment in each group(P<0.05).There was a significant difference in the scale which is FDI,syndrome,NDSI,and NDLQI between the test group and the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:1."Direction of acupuncture in reinforcing-reducing manipulation" and mild reinforcing-reducing manipulation all can improve the main symptoms of FD patients, and can significantly improve patients with FD on postprandial satiety and epigastric pain.2.In terms of the integration of FDI,syndrome,NDSI and NDLQI in patients with FD,both the short-term and long-term effects,"direction of acupuncture in reinforcing-reducing manipulation" are better than the mild reinforcing-reducing manipulation.
