| The Chinese traditional agriculture tends to be in line with the modern technology when China is now changing its old agricultural pattern into a new one.At the same time,more and more relevant researchers are starting to study traditional agricultural terms.From the research status quo,agriculture terminology research leaves much to be desired,and the related existing literature is rather scattered.In view of this,the exploration and research about agricultural terminology translation is very necessary.The paper is based on the theory of Eco-translatology,proposed by Professor Hu Gengshen in recent years.According to the theory,translation is a process in which the translator should first adapt to the translation ecological environment,and then select the translation.In this paper,the Chinese and the English versions of agriculture terms in the Mulberry and Silkworm section of Nong Zheng Quan Shu are used for the corpusto explore practical application of "three dimensional transformation" in the translation of agricultural terms.Results of the study show that selection of the adaptation transformation decides how the translator translates the agricultural terms.(1)In terms of the language dimension,the translator usually adopts the way of free translation,considering that agricultural terms are often very concise,accurate and professional,and readable.(2)In terms of the culture dimension,the translator usually adopts the way of free translation,or spell the term with explanation behind.Through the spelling method,the term is properly "localized".Through the explanation,the agricultural concept is clear to see.(3)In terms of the communicative dimension,the translator's translating strategy is as the case may be.The study results show that the theory of Eco-Translatology gives proper guidance for the translation of agricultural terms in the Mulberry and Silkwonn section of"Nong Zheng Quan Shu". |
