A Report On The E-C Translation Of Newcastle University's Institute For Sustainability Annual Report 2015

Under the background of comprehensive reform of national higher education and promotion of international education,it is of great value to carry out the research and translation for the working reports of developed countries' universities,which could help us to learn from the philosophy,working concepts,successful experience and culture of foreign universities.This is a report of the E-C translation of Newcastle University's Institute for Sustainability Annual Report 2015(excerpts).In this paper,the author presents the translation background and information about the source texts,describes the whole translation process,gives a in-depth analysis on the problems solving by some typical cases in light of Hermeneutics translation methods,and summarizes the findings,limitations and suggestions from the translation practice at last.The university annual report is a summary of the performance of a year with the features of well-organized structure,informative content and normal expression.According to the genre of this translation,the author selects Hermeneutics as the translation guiding ideology and employs its four translation methods,they are grammatical method,psychological method,alienating method,and naturalizing method of translation,with a expectation of providing a beneficial reference for the same type texts translation.
