Nowadays,with the change of international situation and the transformation of junior high school education,reading remains one of the main focuses of English teaching,playing an instrumental role in English teaching.In order to stimulate and cultivate students' interest in English reading learning,students' must establish self-confidence,develop good reading habits and effective learning strategies,and ultimately improve upon the students' autonomous and cooperative learning ability.The introduction of the guided learning plan has led to the development of a new method of English reading teaching.The most important feature of the guided learning plan is to fully reflect the performance of the students,to encourage students to study autonomously and to improve students' cooperative learning ability.In this thesis,the author's main objective is to study the application of the guided learning plan in English reading,set out in junior high schools.Since 2007,the guided learning plan has been used in Mudanjiang Experimental High School,as a result,the author chose the same school as part of the research object.What is the current situation of the guided learning plan in junior high English reading? What are the impacts on students who use the guided learning plan in English reading? What are the impacts on teachers who use the guided learning plan in English reading? In order to solve these problems,the author uses the classroom observation,questionnaires and interviews to investigate the grade two students and teachers in Mudanjiang Experimental High School.SPSS is used to analyze the reliability and validity of the questionnaires,which confirms the availability and ensures the authenticity of the data.The research results show that the addition of the guided learning plan can benefit the students as it improves their autonomous and cooperative learning ability,as well as improving teachers' cooperative ability.Besides,during the study,the author also found that there exist some problems when applying the guided learning plan to English reading.Based on the results of the research,the author analyses the limitations of the research and in turn,provide some useful suggestions and improvements for the future teaching.
