This paper focuses on the pattern of energy allocation under Daniel Gile's Effort Model as the main guiding theory and attempts to analyze the relationship between listening and note-taking by combining the English to Chinese consecutive interpreting of the 3rd Translation&Interpreting Contest for Postgraduates. The problems to be solved in this paper include:the obstacles between listening and note-taking in English-Chinese consecutive interpreting, and the specific strategies that can be adopted to combine the listening and note-taking.Firstly,the author sums up the obstacles between listening and note-taking in English-Chinese consecutive interpreting through data analysis and interviews:the irrational distribution of listening and note-taking;confusion of logic;inability to capture the key information;lack of optimization of note-taking.Secondly,this paper proposes effective conversion strategies by connecting with the obstacles and bilingual differences:using abbreviations and symbols;finding signposts;recording notional words;selecting vertical layout. The innovations of this paper are:1)Focusing the study of note-taking on English-Chinese consecutive interpreting;2)Putting forward four more detailed conversion strategies between listening and note-taking in English-Chinese consecutive interpreting, breaking through the previous general note-taking strategies. The study has a certain guiding significance for the study of future interpretation notes. It has a referential significance for future interpreting practices.
