This is a translation report involving the translation of Chapter six of the Judiciaries within Europe,which is a typical book introducing the European judicial profile.The book was written by John Bell.This translation report describes the translation process,expounds the significance of the translation report,points out the research questions in the report.The author of this report chooses attributive clauses that have typical characteristics in the source language as example sentences.Through careful analysis and refinement,the author summarizes four kinds of attributive clauses in legal English.First of all,Front-loading translation means translating a restrictive clause into phrase with “?”.Secondly,antecedent repetition and omission when using post-processing translation.Thirdly,using blending translation when in“there be” and emphatic structure.Last,translating the attributive clause into a adverbial.This report is not only a summary of the author's translation experience gained by doing the translation project,and it may also provide reference for other translators especially when they are confronted with similar problems in their translation practice.
