A Report On Simulate C-E Consecutive Interpreting Of CCTV-2 Dialogue:Breaking Out Of Poverty

Rapid globalization has made TV interpreting increasingly important nowadays for worldwide information dissemination and as a special type of interpreting in terms of features and requirements,TV interpreting has received much attention.Selecting Dialogue:Breaking out of Poverty on CCTV-2 as the source text,this simulate C-E consecutive interpreting practice tries to gain an insight into TV interpreting mainly in terms of the language features and appropriate interpreting methods.Through a close study of some cases in the practice,this report will explore how to deliver the massage faithfully and accurately to the receptors of target language based on the interpretative theory.Four parts are included in this report.Chapter I is the introduction,explaining the background information and aims of the practice as well as the structure of this report.Then,in Chapter II,this report covers two phases of the practice,namely preparation and the interpretation.Preparation involves some basic and significant knowledge,i.e.,thematic knowledge,terminology,language features of TV interview programs,etc.On the basis of language feature of TV interview programs,including paratactic sentences,redundancy and figures of speech,three main interpreting methods were adopted in this practice under the guide of interpretative theory,namely restructuring,omission and free interpreting.Chapter III gives an introduction to the interpretative theory first and then explores these three main interpreting methods through a close study of some cases.In conclusion part,this report points out the gains and deficiencies in the simulate C-E consecutive interpreting practice.Furthermore,it notes the relative implication from the practice in terms of the improvement methods and future research on TV interpreting.
