Trans-editing Headlines For Huanqiu Current Events News:a Perspective Of Reception Aesthetics

With the rapid development of global economic integration,cross-cultural exchanges and two-way information transmission have set higher demands on the quantity and quality of international news translation.This paper is a practice report based on the author's translation experience of Huanqiu current events news under the guidance of the Reception Aesthetics.During the process of translation,the author of the report notes that most of the translation of Huanqiu news headlines on current events fall into the category of trans-editing.Trans-edited versions are expected to conform to the values of the Chinese headlines and gear to the horizon of expectations and aesthetic habits of the target readers.In view of this circumstance,the author of the report selects 500 pieces of bilingual current events headlines as a corpus to analyze,in an effort to propose macro trans-editing rules and specific trans-editing approaches to the headlines of news on national policies,terrorist attacks and people's livelihood in terms of their choice of topics,perspectives and languages.This report may hopefully serve as a reference for inexperienced intern translators,and provide materials for translation teaching and research in this particular field.
