The thesis is a translation practice report,with the book Text Typology and Translation as its source text of translation,which is chosen from the thirty-eighth of the series of foreign translation research printed by Shanghai Foreign Language Education Press.The book includes sixteen essays written by some eminent scholars as Susan Bassnett,Anna Trosborg,Christiane Nord and so on,who are from British,Denmark,German respectively.So the opinion from this book is international.The writer translates two essays from Chapter One,and because there is no translation of the book,translating this text will not only provide theoretical support for domestic translation teaching and also for those who are learning translation,but also benefits the research and development in fields of text typology and translation and provide research support for cultivating One Belt& One Road language talents,which is of great significance for translation researchers and workers.In accordance with Peter Newmark's text typology,Text Typology and Translation is an informative text as the main type supplemented by expressive text.Therefore,in the process of translation,the translator chooses “communicative translation” as the main strategy and “semantic translation” as the supplemented one.The report consists of five parts.Part one is a brief introduction to the source text and the objective and significance of translation project.Part two introduces the process of translation.Part three introduces the translation theory and strategies.Part four shows the case studies dealing with difficulties in translation.Part five gives a conclusion.
