In recent years, informative translation has aroused the attention of researchers.Firstly,it mainly emphasizes on the reality of the source text rather than the language's style of the author.Besides, historical translation also belongs to the informative translation, benefiting the spread of culture and history. This report takes The Art of Ancient Egypt as the example,in order to reflect the difficulties of translation and relative methods. So,on the premise of ensuring accurate information, the translation should focus on the feelings of readers and fluency of the whole translation. At that time, translation plays an important role as a bridge in this process. In this process of translation, the translator finds that there are many modifiers in the text, which are difficult to translate because of complex and various attributes, hidden logical relationships and linguistic and cultural differences between English and Chinese. The translator mainly studies the translation methods in translating different types of attributive structures in the sentences. The postpositional attributes include prepositional phrases, participle phrases and attributive clauses. The translator uses a variety of translation methods, including conversion, division and pre-modifier.According to the characteristics of historical texts and under the guidance of Skopos theory, the thesis uses typical examples to explore practical translation methods in dealing with complex postpositional attributes to meet the demands of Skopos theory.
