A Report On The Translation Of English Agricultural Texts

Nowadays,the translation studies of English agricultural texts have attracted some attention at home and abroad,but the problem of uneven translation quality is still obvious.Here are two main reasons.First,lack of agricultural knowledge reserves results in insufficient professionalism of the translation.Besides,without any unified standard in this area,the translation level is rather changeable.In order to effectively solve these problems in the translation of such texts,it is necessary to carry out a further study on this topic.This paper selects a report from World Economic Forum,Shaping the Future of Food Security and Agricultural Development,with high recognition and great value as the case text.Based on normative study of selected material and combined with case analysis method,the author explores the translation of English agricultural texts.Initially,the author carries out translation practice with three steps of understanding the original text,expressing the translated text and improving the translation.Then,the author selects some typical translation examples in each procedure to analyze in detail.After that,through comparison and induction,the author summarizes some effective methods in translation practice and demonstrates their feasibility.They mainly include accurate translation of terms and numbers,flexible translation of different sentences,unification of overall style,and logical coherence of the full text.At the same time,with relevant literature,the translation study of English agricultural texts is also implemented in a more in-depth and high-quality way.All in all,this translation practice provides a reference for improving the translation quality of English agricultural texts,which helps to promote its standardization and strictness.The study will not only facilitate readers,but will also have a positive effect on better grasping the international progress in real time and promote the future development of agriculture for China.
