An E-C Translation Report Of Financial Investment Risks

With the increasing exchanges between different countries,international economic exchanges and financial investment activities are also more frequent.China is an important participant of the international economic activities,but its domestic investment environment is not perfect.Advanced experiences and ways to avoid risks can be learned from foreign countries.Meanwhile,more and more people choose to invest abroad,which shows the importance of understanding financial English and financial risks.Chinese readers can better understand the risks in the investment activities from translation of investment texts so as to optimize their investment and avoid the risks.This report is based on the English-Chinese translation of about 10,000-word except selected from the Financial Investment Risks in the private offering memorandum,which aims to discuss the problems encountered in the translation process of the excerpt as well as the corresponding strategies applied to guarantee the accuracy and maintain the text features of source text.The report is divided into five chapters.Chapter one introduces the background and significance of the translation project.Chapter two briefly introduces the functional equivalence theory.And chapter three talks about the text features and problems in the translation process,including archaic words,abbreviations and passive voice sentence translation.In chapter four,examples are listed to analyse translation techniques from the lexical,syntactic and textual perspectives in accordance with functional equivalence.Translation techniques such as omission,amplification and conversion are also discussed in the report so that such translation problems are solved.Chapter five summarizes the translation techniques as well as lessons learned from the translation process.
