A Practice Report On Parallel Texts Inspection In Chinese Translation Of Step By Step Trading From The Perspective Of Text Functional Theory

As a business language,economic and trade English is characterized by its normative and professional use of words and various forms of words and phrases.In the process of Chinese translation,the use of parallel text is crucial to the quality of translation.Professional parallel text inspection can avoid the inaccuracy of translation information and misunderstanding.In most cases,the translation of economic and trade English into Chinese should firmly grasp the content of the original text and adopt parallel text inspection to reproduce the linguistic features and purpose of expression of the original text.This paper takes Step By Step Trading as the translation practice object from the perspective of text function.The text belongs to information text,which mainly deals with the three parts of stock technology analysis,trading system and trading management in the securities market.In view of the translation problems and difficulties of the text function found in the initial translation stage,this paper adopts the parallel text inspection as the translation strategy for adaptation,analyzes and discusses the effectiveness of the parallel text inspection,and aims to translate these excellent securities investment textbooks into Chinese,so that more Chinese readers can learn from western financial concepts.Through the review and analysis of the translated text,it is found that the translation problems are mainly focused on text function conversion of the vocative function,the expressive function,the informative function,the metalingual function and the phatic function.The translation problems are summarized as follows: The imperative relationship is unclear,the meaning of expression is not prominent,the cultural information is default,the meta-language understanding is different,and the interpersonal relationship is biased.In view of the above problems,the parallel text inspecting of vocative function,inspecting of metalingual function,inspecting ofexpressive function,inspecting of informative function and inspecting of phatic function are respectively adopted as the solutions for adaptation.This translation practice,combined with a specific case study,proves the effectiveness of parallel texts inspection in Chinese translation of economic and trade information texts.and the selected text function test strategy is obvious to the quality improvement of the translation.
